BAWAG P.S.K. Leasing – End-to-end implementation across five countries
CALMS (Solifi) - multi-country, multi-language and multi-currency solution delivers process improvements and boosts profitability for BAWAG P.S.K. Leasing
Background
With more than 30,000 clients and over 52,000 contracts as of 2016, BAWAG P.S.K. Leasing is one of Austria’s top five leasing finance companies. BAWAG P.S.K. Leasing was created from a merger just before the turn of the millennium, adopting its current name in 2001. It quickly expanded into new markets, with its first venture in Hungary and the Czech Republic in 2001, followed by Slovakia in 2003 and Poland three years later.
In 2016, the operating business expanded to include the VB Leasing portfolio, further strengthening its market position. Completely brand-independent, it offers white-label finance for several manufacturers. BAWAG also supports the automotive fleet business through a separate fleet company in addition to its asset, automotive and real estate finance products.
Challenge
Legacy systems keeping the company back.
Solution
After considering its good reputation and that major competitors were already implementing our solution successfully, BAWAG adopted Solifi’s CALMS platform in 2006 to manage its diverse Austrian operations, offering a rich mix of finance and insurance products to dealers, retailers and direct sales channels in automotive and business finance.
Following the success of their domestic system, BAWAG P.S.K.’s board of directors decided to adapt CALMS (Solifi) to meet the needs of all their CEE subsidiaries.
CALMS (Solifi) has now expanded to become a single solution spanning five national borders, supporting four currencies and five languages and hosted centrally in Vienna. It supports over 200 regular and ad hoc users and hosts a portfolio of more than 52,000 contracts, minimizing risks in BAWAG’s international portfolio and providing a state-of-the-art, flexible solution that is easily adaptable to new strategies.
CALMS (Solifi) minimizes risks and provides state-of-the-art, flexible solution.
Results
Since expanding the CALMS (Solifi) platform to its CEE subsidiaries, BAWAG has made substantial administrative savings as well as gaining a single view of operations. Processes have improved to the point where monthly reporting and consolidation, which used to take two weeks, are now completed in just a few days. CALMS (Solifi) has enabled the company to rationalize its operations from Austria across Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland.
A company spokesperson endorsed the system as robust, stable and able to deliver the highest levels of business agility. The fleet module in particular was singled out as a key contributing factor in the high profits enjoyed by their fleet division.
